4 servings

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 150 g Kaisertaler
  • 150 g Bergbaron
  • 400 g Mehl
  • 4 Stk. Eier
  • 150 ml Milch
  • 2 Stk. Zwiebeln
  • Butter, Salz, Pfeffer, Muskatnuss

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, eggs, milk, salt, and a pinch of nutmeg in a bowl into a smooth batter until it forms bubbles.
  2. Peel the onions, slice into thin rings, and slowly fry in a large pan with plenty of butter until golden brown, then remove.
  3. Press the batter through a spaetzle maker into boiling salted water. Once the dumplings float to the surface, drain them.
  4. Grate both cheeses. Add the hot dumplings to the pan with the remaining butter, fold in the cheese until melted, season with pepper, and serve topped with the fried onions.
